Welcome to the new Technical Q&A with Lennard Zinn
It's been a year and a half since the Tech FAQ with Lennard Zinn ended on velonews.com. I'm back to answer your questions on a new platform!
Hi!
Since the beginning of 2023 when VeloNews/Outside didn’t renew my contract, I have missed the weekly interchange I’d had for decades with bicycle tech enthusiasts like you who sent me questions for my Tech FAQ column. I wrote continuously for VeloNews for 37 years, so it was a big change in my life not to have that.
I have enjoyed using the extra time to pursue other endeavors. Setting up our new Zinn Cycles bike shop in Louisville, CO, where we celebrated our 40th anniversary, doing more bike fitting, and designing new models and lines of titanium bikes and e-bikes have been among them. I have also missed regular contact with a virtual community of cyclists that I had come to feel very close to; launching this Substack rekindles that.
Writing still is a great love of mine. Over the winter, I jumped in with both feet and wrote a new (6th) edition of Zinn and the Art of Road Bike Maintenance. My great thanks go out to Ulysses Press for taking over VeloPress from Outside to make this and my future books possible once again.
Now it’s time to get back in touch and answer your questions about bikes, bike fitting, bike injuries, athletic hearts, and so forth.
Subscribe to my Substack and email questions to me at veloqna@comcast.net. I plan to post here every Monday that I’m in town.
Thanks,
Lennard Zinn
